Today’s song is probably one of the greatest songs ever written. Don McLean wrote this song after Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper were killed in a plane crash, which is known as the day the music died. Don McLean was an amazing folk song writer and unfortunately he will probably never be recognized for anything but this song. In the 90’s there was only one song to listen to, and it’s called Fly by Sugar Ray. I defy anyone to not jump out of their chair and do their best white man reggae two step while listening to this song. Sugar Ray hasn’t really released anything good lately, it seems unfortunate. He was originally in the hip hop group Little T and One Track Mike who wrote the amazing song – “Shaniqua.” Tim Fite’s real name is actually Timothy Sullivan. It’s “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon. On February 6th this is what I had to say about the band.- Kings of Leon is a band from Mt. Juliet Tennessee comprised of 3 brothers and a cousin who share the last name Followill. The band started in the year 2000 and the name comes from the father of the three brothers, Leon, who was a traveling pentecostal preacher. They have released 5 albums and their latest single “Sex on Fire” won a Grammy. They are pure unadulterated rock n roll, and I love it. Today’s song is off their latest album “Only by Night.” ]]>
